Toronto Canada

By Ben | August 10, 2010

Today we spent time exploring Toronto. First we went to the World’s Biggest Book Store and I got two books. I’m already done with one of them. We also went to the Hockey Hall of Fame and it was awesome. The Stanley Cup was there and I got to kiss it just like the NHL players do when they win it! I saw lots of Bobby Orr stuff and got to wear the goalie pads of Ken Dryden, a great goalie. I also got to be a goalie with pucks being shot at me – I made a couple of saves!

Last night we went to the Red Sox-Blue Jays game and the Sox won 7-5. We had great seats and I brought my glove but didn’t catch a foul ball.

Kissing the Stanley Cup!

These pads are a little big on me.

Ready to make the save.

Tried to get some autographs but no luck.

Niagra Falls

By Ben | August 9, 2010

Today was great! We went to Niagra Falls and it was amazing. The best part was Cave of the Winds. You take an elevator down through the rock over 100 feet and come to the side of the falls. The Hurricane deck  was the best part. Here are some pictures below. Later we drove to Toronto and are in a nice hotel. It has the only indoor water slide in Toronto – it is 5 stories high and it goes in like 10 loops!

Bring it on!

Buffalo,NY.

By Ben | August 8, 2010

We stopped in Lenox for Breakfast. I had a bagel and bacon. The food was amazing!

Then we rode on to Syracuse, where we had lunch in a parking lot in our car because mom and dad couldn’t a better place.

Finally, at 2:45, we got to our hotel in Buffalo. It is the best hotel I’ve ever been to. There is an indoor pool. Our apt. has 2 flat screen tvs in it. There is a workout center. Mom and I went there and I used the eliptical machine and watched Cartoon Network.

Then we went to dinner at the Anchor, which is the home of buffalo wings. I tried a wing, but I don’t really like spicy things so I didn’t really like it. I had chicken fingers instead.

It was a great day. Tomorrow we are going to Niagra Falls.

Heading to Toronto

By Ben | August 7, 2010

Tomorrow we are going to go to Buffalo, New York to get Buffalo wings. The hotel we are staying at has an indoor pool. After we stay one night in Buffalo, we are going to go up to Niagra Falls in Canada. It is going to be my first trip to Canada.

Hurricane Deck, Cave of the Winds, Niagra Falls

At Niagra Falls, there is this place called Cave of the Winds. It is all of these steps that go under the falls. We’re going to get pretty wet. Good thing they give you a rain jacket. But I’m still going to wear my bathing suit.

Our trip to Münster

By Ben | April 26, 2009

Today Jochen drove us to the town of Münster, where his sister Vera lives. We had lunch at the restaurant on a lake, and there were a lot of crew boats racing each other with lots of guys rowing. We walked around the town a while (Mom and Dad REALLY like old churches) and went to Vera’s house for some food. She and her boyfriend showed us how they do Tango dancing, in their livingroom!

A German Pro League Soccer game

By Ben | April 26, 2009

On Saturday my cousin Jochen took us to a soccer game in a huge stadium.

The view from our seats.

There were fans of the two teams that were waving flags and singing songs all through the game.

These guys made a real lot of noise. But their team lost.

The final score was 1-0, and the goal was on a really long shot. After the game, Mom and Dad bought me an official German soccer jersey!

By Ben | April 26, 2009

We rode a train into Koln and Jochen, mom´s cousin met us at the station. We went to their house and I met Antje, his wife, and their two babies Helena and Sophia.

They are really cute and I really like playing with them. We spent Friday touring around Koln and had dinner in a German Beerhaus. I built a Lego while mom and dad and Jochen talked about a bunch of boring stuff like politics and history and all of the crazy things they used to do.

The Louvre

By Ben | April 25, 2009

We went to a great museum called The Louvre in Paris. It is one of the most famous museums in the world. We saw the Mona Lisa and some other paintings by Leonardo Da Vinci. My favorite part was all the stuff from ancient Egypt. There were lots of secret codes and hieroglyphics carved into stone tablets and burial tombs. I got a book in the gift shop that helps to decode all the secret stuff.
